Trista Hamsmith
Trista Hamsmith founded Reese’s Purpose after her 17-month-old, Reese, passed away after accidentally swallowing a button battery. Reese’s Law was signed by President Biden in August 2022. Trista now focuses on implementation of Reese’s Law, early detection, and education. Despite her grief, she believes God has spoken to her and wants to share the love of the Lord and the power of His purpose.

Session Description
Trista has always felt the need to speak of God’s presence since Reese’s accident but has not always been in a position to bring faith into the conversation. In Reese’s hospital room was a plaque that read “He has a Plan and I have a Purpose”. She has been tested through this tragedy, but her belief, obedience, and trust in Him helps her navigate her loss and find her purpose. She knows that with God, sharing Reese’s story will save others.
